Cancun, Q.R. — The state of Quintana Roo will remain in a green epidemiological light for another week. The state turned green more than a month ago after a continued decline in covid-19 related cases.
In the past 24 hours, health officials have reported only 16 new cases and one death across the entire state. The State Secretariat of Health (SESA) reported the rate of infection in the North Zone dropped to 0.00 and in the South, 0.01.
According to their technical report, 264 patients remain in social isolation and 16 in hospital due to covid-19 complications.
The government of Quintana Roo reported that the state will remain green, with Governor Carlos Joaquin reminding residents that while vaccine programs continue, there is a chance of a rebound in infections after the holidays due to crowding in public places.
