Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Six main avenues being repaved in Puerto Aventuras are nearing the half-way mark. Puerto Aventuras Mayor Gilberto Gómez Martínez says before they’re complete, they will begin construction of drainage wells throughout the town.

He says work will soon begin on the construction of 27 new absorption wells as part of the plan approved by the Municipal Planning and Development Committee (Coplademun). Meanwhile, maintenance continues on the existing wells to ensure the town’s neighborhoods can deal with the current rainy season.
Gómez Martínez stated that the finished projects will improve mobility conditions and mitigate the risk of flooding in critical areas of Puerto Aventuras.
“With these projects we’re not only improving the roads, we’re also prepared to handle the rains and prevent damage,” he said.

Work on repaving six of the town’s main avenues began during the third week of April. The project is being headed by the Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works.
