Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Firemen in Puerto Aventuras were unable to save a public transport van that caught fire. The unit began to emit smoke while traveling south on the highway outside the town Tuesday morning.
The combi was carrying a full load of passengers around 7:00 a.m. when the driver was forced to quickly pull over and get everyone out. Within minutes, the smoke had turned to flames.
The van, which belonged to the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río Union, burned in its entirety. Firemen could do nothing to save it. There were no injuries reported in the early morning mishap. An official cause of the combi fire remains undetermined.
