Puerto Aventuras, Q. R. — A Puerto Aventuras merchant was shot to death Sunday outside a town market. The afternoon shooting happened in broad daylight. Sunday market witnesses reported a single male on a motorcycle was responsible.
Municipal police responding to the shooting found the man laying on his back outside a closed market stall. Several people were around trying to help him, however, he was pronounced on scene.
He has not been identified.
Four suspects have been detained in the shooting. Seguridad Pública Solidaridad reported that during a search operation and using details provided by witnesses, four men have been taken into custody.
One of the men, Oswaldo “N” and his motorcycle and helmet matched the description provided by witnesses. The other three men were arrested when they physically attacked the police officer attempting to detain Oswaldo “N”.
Additional police were requested which resulted in the arrests of Oswaldo “N”, 24 from Chiapas, Mauricio “N”, 36 from Mexico City, Juan “N” 21 from Quintana Roo and Efrain “N” 33 and also from Quintana Roo.
