Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A Puerto Aventuras man was rushed to hospital Sunday afternoon after being shot twice. Area residents of the Los Sauces subdivision reported hearing gunfire to police.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in what reports are calling an attempted execution.
The incident happened around 4:00 p.m. along the highway near the entrance to the community. Responding officers requested an ambulance.
Paramedics transferred the man alive to hospital, however, he was reported to be in critical condition during the transfer.
Officers from the Playa del Carmen Public Safety Secretariat (SSC) who responded to the report of gunfire are continuing with their investigation.
The victim’s name has not been made public. Authorities did not provide a possible motive for the shooting.
