Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun psychiatrist with a two million peso reward for his arrest has been captured. The psychiatrist identified by police as Edgar “N”, was wanted for the rape of a minor in 2022.

The minor was a patient of his who claimed in September of 2022, rape on several occasions. Local authorities offered a reward for his arrest. On Thursday, the State Attorney General (FGE) who were offering the two million pesos, said Edgar “N” was captured after ongoing police work.

Edgar “N” was captured by FGE personnel in coordination with the National Guard. Edgar “N” was arrested on an outstanding warrant “for his alleged involvement in acts that may constitute the crime of rape against a minor victim,” they explained.

“The incidents for which Edgar “N” is being investigated occurred on September 19, 2022, when the victim went to the psychiatrist’s office, with whom she was undergoing therapy.

“That day, the suspect inappropriately touched her and subsequently committed the rape, which, according to the victim, had already occurred on other occasions.”
