Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal taxi driver videoed stealing a cell phone has been forced to return it. The incident was recorded on a private camera of a workshop on Maxuxac Avenue Tuesday.
When the owner of the phone noticed it missing, he reviewed his security footage to watch as a taxi driver rooted around his workshop for valuables and take the phone.
The video was uploaded to social media with the disgruntled owner warning Chetumal residents about the taxi thief. He then notified SUCHAA, the operating head of Chetumal taxi drivers, who tracked down the man seen in the video.
The Chetumal taxi driver was forced to return the cell phone to its owner and offer an apology. Suchaa did not say if further action would be taken against the city driver.
