Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police have made arrests in the weekend shooting deaths of four youths. The arrests comes less than 48 hours after the targeted attack where four males lost their lives in Santa Cecilia.

The State Attorney General reported that through close collaboration with members of the Institutional Task Force, two subjects were captured for their probable participation in the November 30, 2024 shooing that left four young men dead.

“During the arrest of a minor teenager and Jorán “N”, possible material and intellectual authors of the quadruple homicide, respectively, elements of the Investigative Police of the FGE, Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC), Secretariat of the Navy, Secretariat of National Defense, National Guard, National Anti-Kidnapping Commission (Conase) and Secretariat of Citizen Security, seized a 9 mm caliber firearm, which is related to this event.

“Likewise, the suspects were found to be in possession of various drug-like substances. This evidence, as well as the detainees, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office,” the State Attorney General said in a statement.

Police clarified that “with regard to the deaths, two of them were motivated by drug dealing, while the motive for the deaths of two brothers was collateral damage, as these two people were in a snack bar where the events occurred.”
