Police intercept car and rescue Chetumal kidnapping victim after 9-1-1 call

Chetumal, Q.R. — A vehicle reported involved in the kidnapping of a Chetumal man has been located. The car was reported to police in a 9-1-1 call Thursday which lead to the arrests of four.

Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security made the arrests after the car was reported seen circulating on Maxuxac Avenue between Pulyuc and Petcacab streets. The red car was reported involved in the earlier kidnapping of a Chetumal man from his home.

The car was located traveling in the Solidaridad neighborhood and was intercepted by police. Inside the vehicle were five men, one of whom was the kidnapping victim. The male victim said he did not know his captors, who were taken into police custody at the scene.

The the 2006 Nissan Sentra with Quintana Roo license plates they were driving was seized. According to the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana de Q.Roo), Chetumal police proceeded to arrest Rubén “N”, Juan “N”, Gerardo “N” and Pedro “N”. Authorities have not commented on details or a motive surrounding the kidnapping.
