Cancun, Q.R. — Local authorities have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a June 5 Cancun murder. The suspect, Mauricio Raúl “N”, was arrested for the death of a man, police say, he knew.

Attorney General Raciel López Salazar says field investigation, analysis, and technological analysis lead to the arrest of Mauricio Raúl “N”. He is currently facing aggravated homicide charges.
“The events under investigation occurred on June 5 of this year in a residential complex located on Eucalipto Street in Cancun,” he reported.
“Initial investigations indicate that the alleged assailant spent time with the victim at his home both the day before and on the day of the incident. At some point, they argued, and the suspect grabbed a knife and inflicted wounds to the victim’s left pectoral region, as well as a stab wound to the sternum, injuries that caused his death.
“Afterward, the suspect allegedly stole various items from the property, including televisions, drills, a laptop computer, and a hydraulic jack, which he pawned. He also allegedly burned the clothes he was wearing at the time of the incident,” López Salazar explained.
Two days later, on June 7, members of the Investigative Police arrested Mauricio Raúl “N” for drug dealing. During the arrest, a gray Honda City with license plates from the state of Quintana Roo was seized.
Mauricio Raúl “N” is now also facing charges in the death of a man found inside his home June 5.
