Police arrest man for death of woman after allegedly lacing drinks with cocaine

Mexico City, Mexico — A man who is accused of giving three women alcoholic beverages laced with cocaine has been arrested. Police in Mexico City reported the arrest of Mauro N after weeks of searching.

In a news brief, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City reported the arrest of man on Saturday. After processing, he was transferred to the Oriente Men’s Preventive Prison.

In their statement, the Attorney General of Mexico City said “Mauro “N” was arrested for femicide, attempted femicide and corruption of persons under 18 years of age.” A warrant was issued for his arrest after one of the three women died. The agency reported the incident happened on April 8, when the now-accused went to a house party.

While there, he is alleged to have given the three women the drug-laced beverages. After ingesting the beverages, two of the women lost consciousness and one, Sofia M, died of intoxication.
