Tabasco — Octavio Romero Oropeza, CEO of Pemex, reported that a new field has been discovered in the Quesqui oil field with reserves up to 700 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Romero Oropeza stressed that Quesqui is a field with a lot of potential because it will mean having a 60,000 barrel per day production by 2021, which could see figures reach 100,000.
“We must take into account that currently 1.6 million barrels are extracted if we talk about a field of the 20 that we are working, that will allow us to increase from 60,000 to 100,000 barrels per day, which is great news,” said the CEO of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
“With the analysis of the information provided by this well, and with the seismic data of the area, we can confirm today the existence of a giant deposit of 500 million barrels of crude oil equivalent proven reserves,” he said.
