Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The passenger of a compact car was killed in a highway crash early Sunday morning outside Puerto Aventuras. National Guard were first on scene, locating the single-vehicle crash along the dark highway.
Inside the car was a man and woman. Responding paramedics pronounced the female passenger dead at the scene. The male driver identified as Javier “N”, was rushed to hospital from the 1:00 a.m. accident scene.
Speed is believed a factor in the crash after the driver, who was heading toward Tulum, lost control on a corner and slammed headlong into the concrete base of a highway sign.
