Pair facing additional charges after weapon found during arrest matched three Cancun murders

Cancun, Q.R. — Two males arrested for drug offences are now facing murder charges. On Monday, Cancun police said the pair are being investigated for murder after their weapon matched three homicides.

Police have identified 20 year old Daniel Adrián “N”, alias “Fantón” and 19 year old Brayan Alexis “N”, alias “Vargas” as suspects in the recent shooting death of a Cancun man.

On February 27, 2026, Cancun police found 52 year old José de Jesús “N”, alias “Chupón” dead behind the wheel of his car. He was pulled over when he was shot and killed.

It is believed that Daniel Adrián “N” from Quintana Roo and Brayan Alexis “N” from Guerrero were responsible for intercepting the vehicle and shooting the driver three times with a .380 caliber weapon.

Police reported that the pair were recently taken into custody on drug possession offences and that during their arrests, authorities found a .380 caliber firearm.

The case gained greater relevance when the seized weapon was analyzed in the IBIS ballistic system, confirming it had also been used in two other murders committed in Cancun in 2025.

Police have identified the same weapon used to kill Ángel Gabriel “N” in September of 2025 and Ángel Josmar “N” in November of 2025, both in the city of Cancun.
