Cancun, Q.R. — A man identified as José de Jesús “N”, alias “El Chupón”, was shot to death in Cancun Friday. The 50 year old man had a history with local law enforcement as an alleged drug dealer.

Two men on a motorcycle blocked his path from driving away, shooting him through his open driver’s side window.

Medical personnel confirmed the driver was dead behind the wheel. He has been identified as a suspected member of the Sinaloa Cartel who was involved in retail drug sales around Cancun.

José de Jesús “N” was arrested in September of last year on drug offences during a Cancun roadway operation. That arrest led to a property search in SM 91 which allegedly functioned as a storage and distribution point for narcotics.

According to available information, the Friday shooting was over a dispute regarding area drug sales points.
