Over two dozen women forced into prostitution removed from Chetumal nightclub

Chetumal, Q.R. — Over two dozen women were freed from a forced prostitution situation in Chetumal. The women were removed from the bar during a raid Saturday night.

The nightclub has been seized by the state May 24, 2026.

The State Attorney General (FGE) reported executing a search warrant at a nightclub on Maxuxac Avenue and Polyuc Street. Police were seen in the Comité Proterritorio neighborhood making the arrests of 11 people.

Police said the women carried out the activities under conditions of subordination. They received institutional care and protection in accordance with established protocols.

During the operation, personnel the Drug and Human Trafficking area, seized video surveillance cameras, marijuana and crystal meth. They also seized four motorcycles, three of which were without license plates, and three Chevy vehicles.

Seven men and four women were taken into custody “for their probable involvement in acts that may constitute drug and human trafficking in its form of prostitution of others,” police said.

In custody are Iván Ulises “N”, Marcos Alexis “N”, Jamer Francisco “N”, Iván Emor “N”, Rodrigo Alón “N”, Erick Adrián “N”, Karyme Noemí “N”, Sara Stephani “N”, Cristian Martín “N”, Jennyfer Guadalupe “N” and Juliana “N”, the latter originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

The search was executed by the Secretariat of the Navy, Secretariat of Citizen Security and Municipal Police. A total of 28 women were removed from the nightclub.

Eleven people were arrested from the Chetumal nightclub May 24, 2026.

“Upon completion of the proceedings, the official security seals were placed on the searched property,” the FGE reported.
