Chetumal, Q.R. — Federal authorities have announced that the drugs seized from a Chetumal home Thursday was in excess of one ton. Federal authorities searched the home late Thursday after an anonymous complaint lead them to the private house on Polchuc Street.
Inside, authorities found 1.2 tons of marijuana. The drug was wrapped in plastic bags and stored in cardboard boxes that were found stacked in several rooms of the small house.
Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security carried out the search and seizure operation with assistance from the Mexican Navy. No one was inside the house at the time of the search.
