Costa Maya, Q.R. — Paramedics did not report any serious injuries after a passenger bus overturned outside Mahahual. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday that left a few bus passengers with only minor injuries.
The accident was reported along a section of the Cafetal highway just before the Mahahual intersection. According to preliminary information, wet roads may have been responsible for the driver veering off the highway when taking a corner and overturning in the ditch.
The bus, which landed on its side, was carrying 30 people at the time of the accident. National Guard arrived to secure the area while the passengers were evaluated and the bus towed.
