Chetumal, Q.R. — One woman has been kept in police custody after a combi was found transporting bricks of marijuana in a police filter at Chetumal.
A total of 11 passengers were detained last Wednesday from the public transport unit after a police inspection found two bricks of marijuana. The unit was heading to the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The six men and five women were removed from the public unit and transferred to police facilities where, after questioning, authorities were successful in determining the rightful owner of the drugs.
Authorities say one female passenger from the combi was kept in detention after she was found to be the rightful person transporting the two bricks of drugs. She was transferred to the Chetumal Social Reintegration Center (Cereso) Friday night on drug-related charges, while the others were released, confirmed the general secretary of the General Francisco May combi union, Mario didier Aguilar Ramírez.
Details about the woman, including her age and identity, were not released.
