Mahahual, Q.R. — A group altercation over music has left one Mahahual man dead and two others seriously injured. In incident happened Friday night when brothers Juan “S” and Marco “S” were with nephew Juan “D” under a Mahahual sports dome.
While there with music, the trio were approached by a group who came to complain about the noise. The complaint quickly escalated into a fight with the group physically assaulting the three men.
One of the brothers was hit in the head with a hammer and died. The victim has been identified as Juan “S”. Two others were injured during the attack. Marco “S” was reportedly transferred to hospital in critical condition.
The group that reportedly initiated the attack fled the scene before police arrived. Responding officers cordoned off the area of the attack to collect information. Members of the Citizen Security Secretariat also deployed operations to locate members of the group, but so far there are no arrests.
The State Attorney General’s Office has started an investigation.
