Chetumal, Q.R. — Two gunmen were wounded and one woman killed in a shootout with Chetumal police. Late Tuesday night, police responded to the report of armed men in a vehicle circulating city streets.
It was around 10:30 p.m. when Chetumal officers located the armed men in their car. The Tsuru was intercepted by police near the intersection of Javier Rojo Gómez and José Vasconcelos Avenues.
Once officers began to approach the car, shots were fired from inside at police. Chetumal officers fired back, wounding two men and killing one woman.
In a social media briefing, the FGE of Quintana Roo posted “after a confrontation with elements of the Investigative Police in Chetumal, two assailants were injured and a female person died during the attack, while the police elements were unharmed.”
