Nine-year-old Chetumal boy left with gash after crocodile bite

Chetumal, Q.R. — A boy and his family are transferred to hospital after being bitten by a small crocodile. On Friday, a nine-year-old boy was reportedly bitten on the leg by a small crocodile when he went into the water off Bahia Boulevard.

He was able to free himself from the crocodile, but not before receiving a 5 cm gash on his leg. His parents called for an ambulance who treated his wound on site before transferring him with his family, to the Chetumal General Hospital.

Others at the site who witnessed the bite said they were surprised since the crocodiles do not normally approach that part of the shore since it is busy.
