New SRE office will serve Cozumel island residents

Cozumel, Q.R. — This summer, the city of San Miguel will have a passport office to serve the island. It will be Cozumel’s first Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE) office, which is scheduled for delivery in about three months.

Badih Sleme Flores, Cozumel’s Director of Economic Development and Tourism, said the new Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) office will be located on the upper floors of the Plaza del Sol building in the center of the island.

Once up and running, the new SRE office will allow islanders to process their passports in Cozumel without having to travel to another municipality. He says the new SRE office is expected to be open and operational sometime in late June or early July.
