Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun Mayor Ana Patricia Peralta de la Peña has announced Captain José Pablo Mathey Cruz as head of Cancun Public Security. On Friday, Peralta de la Peña swore in the new head as the Secretaría Municipal de Seguridad Pública.
His appointment is part of the changes being made in major state positions with the new Governor, Mara Lezama. In her press release, the new mayor of Cancun, Peralta de la Peña added that Mathey Cruz had been serving as Undersecretary of Control and Operation of SSP for two years before assuming his new Cancun position.
Cruz will work in a coordinated manner with municipal, state and federal governments, aligned with the National Strategy for Public Security and state guidelines, as issued by Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa.
