Mahahual, Q.R. — The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico has reported the medical evacuation of a passenger from a catamaran after an American man began to experience symptoms of arterial hypertension.
The man was participating in recreational activities when his high blood pressure issues began. Catamaran crew members made an emergency call for an evacuation, to which the navy responded.
Elements of the Mexican Navy met the boat Mayan Win approximately 2.5 nautical miles (4.63 km) east of Mahahual where they removed a 78-year-old American man. He was transferred in stable condition to Mahahual fisherman’s wharf where an ambulance was waiting to transport him to hospital to receive medical care.
