Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Elements of the National Guard were sent to a Puerto Aventuras sideroad Monday night. Personnel were responding to reports of an overturned pickup from the highway overpass.
National Guard Highways arrived to find a pickup had fallen from the overpass onto the sideroad. The driver was heading south when he allegedly drove off the bridge.
His old model pickup landed on its side, blocking traffic entering the town from the highway.
The vehicle had been left behind by its driver.
While authorities did not find the person responsible at the scene, they did locate several can of alcoholic beverages inside the cab.
The Nissan pickup was towed to the impound where it will stay until the owner claims it.
