Chetumal, Q.R. — A man remains in critical condition after being hit by vehicle while riding his motorcycle on the federal highway. The accident happened at the entrance to the city of Chetumal Sunday evening.
Other motorists stopped to help at the site of the accident near the intersection of Insurgentes Avenue and Álvaro Obregón. At the scene they reported an unconscious man laying on the road that had been struck by a private vehicle.
The vehicle that allegedly hit the motorcycle came to a stop after slamming into a concrete wall.
An ambulance transferred the unconscious man to a Chetumal hospital in critical condition where he remains. He has been identified only as Manuel “N”.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the driver of the private vehicle swerved prior to making contact with the motorcyclist.
The driver was extracted from the vehicle and taken into custody from the scene.
