More than 82,000 local jobs recovered after being lost to pandemic

Cancun, Q.R. — More than 82,000 of the local jobs lost during the pandemic have been recovered. Governor Carlos Joaquín says that approximately 85 percent of the jobs lost due to the pandemic have been recovered in the state.

He detailed that from January 2021 to February 2022, 82,931 jobs have been filled. He announced the official figures during a recent job recruitment event in Cancun.

Joaquin says that these recruitment events are important since they respond to the needs of the labor market in each region of the state where a direct link is made between employers and job applicants.

Rodrigo Ramírez Quintana, head of the National Employment Service Unit, said that Mexico is very close to reaching the 21 million formal jobs that were lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He also said that 90,000 vaccines are being offered by more than 2,000 companies participating in these job fairs.
