Chetumal, Q.R. — More than 6.3 million pesos have been invested in Chetumal streets. The government made the much needed upgrades to over 7,500 square meters of pavement along the Verzcruz Calzada between Av. Ignacio Comonfort and Pucté Street.
Irazú Sarabia, who heads the Chetumal Ministry of Public Works (SEOP), reported the change after a demand from the people “since the roads presented a high degree of deterioration due to lack of maintenance. Today, people have better mobility.”
Sarabia reported that with the 6.3 million pesos, streets were paved and trimmings and sidewalks were built in two lanes of Calzada Veracruz that runs from Calle Pucté to Av. Ignacio Comonfort, which was in an advanced state of deterioration due to the lack of maintenance.
“With this work, reliable results are obtained which are reflected in this new government that there will be a profound change with a new way of doing things, always giving priority to the voice of citizens,” Irazú Sarabia said.
