Riviera Maya, Q.R. — More than 11,000 teachers and school staff have already received booster shots around the state. The State Secretary of Health, Alejandra Aguirre Crespo, reported 11,408 education workers around Quintana Roo have received a booster vaccine shot.
She reported that during the first round of vaccines, more than 30,000 education personnel were vaccinated. The state of Quintana Roo, along with other states across Mexico, will continue with booster shots for teachers and school staff.
The booster shots come at the same time as the delay of the return of face-to-face classes. Twice already this month, state officials have delayed the return to classes due to the increase in covid-19 infections. Students were supposed to begin classes on January 18, after a second delay, however last week, authorities announced in indefinite delay in the return.
