Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Mitsubishi Motors of Mexico says they are analyzing the possibility of opening two locations in the state of Quintana Roo, one in Playa del Carmen and the other in Tulum.
The motor company says that due to the expected fast recovery of the state in comparison with the rest of Mexico, they are considering expanding. President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors de México, Jorge Vallejo says that they are analyzing the opening of locations with a sales floor and workshop in the cities of Playa del Carmen and Tulum. He says such openings will eliminate Mitsubishi owners from having to travel to Cancun for auto maintenance.
He noted that with the projected recovery of Quintana Roo being faster than that of the rest of the country due to its tourism industry and the exchange rate of the peso against the dollar, the Mitsubishi Motors brand is seeking to expand its presence in the state.
He recognized that at a national level, the automotive sector in general would close the year with a drop of up to 38 percent in the sale of units, which they hope to reverse in Quintana Roo, focusing on the placement of work and fleet vehicles, such as the case of vehicle lessors.
