Ministry of Health updates Mexico’s epidemiological lights noting only one green state

Mexico City, Mexico — While Mexico continues in its third wave of Covid, the Ministry of Health announced the most recent change in the country’s epidemiological lights.

According to the Ministry, seven states are now in a red epidemiological light, while two others have digressed from yellow to orange. Mexico City and Jalisco, who were yellow, are now at an orange epidemiological light for this next week.

In its daily technical report, the Ministry detailed that there are seven red states, 17 orange, seven in yellow and only one state with a green epidemiological light for the current week.

Red states include Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Guerrero, Colima, Querétaro, Tabasco and Puebla. States with an orange light are Aguascalientes, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Morelos, Tlaxcala, Campeche, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Veracruz, Hidalgo, Sonora and Quintana Roo.

Mexican states in yellow are Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Guanajuato and Yucatán, while the state of Chiapas is the only green state in the country.

The federal agency detailed that in 24 hours, another 761 covid-related deaths were reported around the country.
