Mexico receives one million Sinovac vaccines, largest shipment since pandemic

Mexico City, Mexico — One million doses of the Chinese vaccine Sinovac arrived Saturday at the Mexico City International Airport, the largest shipment since the beginning of the pandemic. The arrival of the shipment via Cathy Pacific was reported by the Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard.

“Today we received the largest shipment of vaccines. One million doses of Sinovac. The vaccination plan accelerates the pace,” said the Chancellor on social media.

The General Director of Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico, Pedro Zenteno says Mexico has received 6,492,375 doses of vaccines from Pfizer, Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Russian Sputnik pharmaceutical Biologist V.

Last week, Marcelo Ebrard reported that the federal government ordered 10 million additional doses of Sinovac in addition to the 10 million previously contracted, which should arrive between March and May. The country will also order 12 million doses of China’s Sinopharm.
