Mexico City, Mexico — A Mexico City judge has ordered the arrest of Miguel Alemán Magnani, the founder of Interjet airline, on charges of tax fraud for nearly 65 million peso.
On Thursday, José Manuel Salazar Uribe, judge of the 60th Civil Court of Mexico City, requested the seizure of all brands of ABC Aerolíneas, the legal name of Interjet, for failing to pay client contracts which include the Bank of Utah and aircraft leasing company Tvpx Aircraft Solutions, both based in the US.
According to judicial sources cited by El l Universal, a federal judge issued the arrest warrant against Alemán Magnani for the crime of tax fraud in the amount of 65 million peso. According to these sources, the Prosecutor’s Office requested the order after a complaint filed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) for this debt to SAT.
