Mexico City, Mexico — An Italian man remains in Mexico City jail after Customs found MDA and cocaine. The narcotics were found Christmas Eve upon arrival at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
Members of the Navy detained the unnamed tourist after a scan of his luggage revealed the drugs. The find was made by Mexican Customs agents upon his arrival from Rome.
According to the Security Cabinet, while scanning his bags, federal personnel located 2.7 kilograms of methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) and more than 4 kilos of cocaine in his luggage.
“At AICM, during an X-ray inspection of checked luggage, Semar and Customs officers arrested a foreigner from Rome, Italy. The person was carrying 2.7 kilograms of MDA and more than 4 kilograms of cocaine, which were seized by the authorities,” they reported.
Further details surrounding his arrest were not provided.
