Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Municipal head Estefanía Mercado paid a visit to Puerto Aventuras to oversee ongoing work. The town, which is part of the municipality of Playa del Carmen, is undergoing several large maintenance projects.

On Tuesday, Playa del Carmen Mayor Estefania Mercado oversaw the work being carried out as part of the Mega Public Services Brigade project.
Mercado was accompanied by the Secretary of Public Services, Julieta Martín Azueta and Gilberto Gómez, the mayor of Puerto Aventuras. The group toured Puerto Maya Boulevard where public lighting personnel carried out maintenance on streetlights.
“We are reinforcing the street lighting because a well-lit street is a safer street,” Mercaso said. “Here we are addressing a citizen demand and delivering concrete results.”
The group also visited the Puerto Maya residential development where crews were carrying out pothole repairs to improve road conditions, as well as clearing drainage wells.

“Pothole repair isn’t just about appearances, it’s about road safety and well-being for those who travel these streets every day,” she stated adding “We are cleaning and rehabilitating drainage wells to prevent flooding and protect families.”
