Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen mayor Lili Campos says the office has yet to received any notification of the suspension of work on the Maya Train. Her clarification came after work on section 5 continued, despite the announcement of a suspension.
Campos confirmed as of Friday, the office of the Solidaridad City Council had not been notified of any such suspension. She said as long as they do not receive a notification from a district judge, they cannot be sure the suspension granted was even real.
She explained that the project being carried out in Villas del Sol falls under municipal jurisdiction and that since 2013, the possibility of including a train through that peripheral was approved by authorities at that time and already appears in the Urban Development Plan.
