Chetumal, Q.R. — The third and final suspect, considered the mastermind in the murder of a Chetumal woman, has been taken into custody. On Friday, the State Attorney General’s (FGE) Office reported on the arrest of José de Jesús “N” “for his probable participation in the crime of qualified homicide.”
Based on their first investigation, “the detainee is considered the alleged mastermind of the murder of the victim who disappeared on January 28, 2024, and whose remains were found on March 6 of last year in the irregular property of Los Sauces,” they said.
In their statement, the FGE said their initial investigation lead them to three people responsible for the murder, two of whom have already been arrested. The third, José de Jesús “N”, was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant Friday.
The FGE identified three probable participants in the events that lead up to the woman’s murder. They reported Jonathan “N” and Luis Esteban “N” have already been arrested and now, the third, José de Jesús “N”.
“Following his capture in the city of Chetumal, José de Jesús “N” was taken to the FGE facilities for the respective procedures and later transferred to the Municipal Detention Center of Playa del Carmen.”
