Chetumal, Q.R. — A Colombian man who went to the Chetumal Municipal Transit office for a new driver’s license landed himself in jail. On Tuesday, a man identified as Williton N arrived at the government building to process his license.
While there, the standard identification run through the country’s Plataforma México system revealed an outstanding arrest warrant for murder. Mexico’s database revealed his background and flagged the Colombian for a 2019 homicide charge along with kidnapping, injuries and damage to private property.
The man was arrested inside the Traffic Directorate facilities of Chetumal after a call was made for Municipal Police assistance.
