Mahahual, Q.R. — A man was left deceased along a Mahahual highway Friday after being hit by an oncoming water truck. The accident happened along the Mahahual-Cafetal highway when the driver of a small compact car opened his door and got out.
In that moment, an oncoming water truck clipped the door and driver of the car, throwing him several meters where he landed along the side of the road in front of his vehicle. The man, who has been identified as Omar H, was delivering area newspapers when the accident happened.
The driver of the water truck did not stop. An arrest has not been announced. Motorists who witnessed the accident made the report to Emergency 911. The company he delivered newspapers for reported it was Omar’s last day on the job when the accident took place.
