Chetumal, Q.R. — A Chetumal man is facing charges of the attempted murder of his girlfriend. The charges stem from an argument on February 28, 2026 when the woman tried to leave the relationship.
According to police, the couple lived together, however, the woman had decided to end the relationship. While packing her belongings, her now ex-boyfriend injured her with a knife, threatening to kill her.

“Carlos Misael “N”, who allegedly on the night of February 28 of this year, attended a party with his girlfriend with whom he argued,” police reported.
“She left the place to go to her parents’ house to look for her brothers, with whom she arrived at her home on Calzada Veracruz Avenue. Carlos Misael “N” was already there.
“The investigation indicates that upon arriving at the residence, the victim’s brothers were helping her collect her belongings because she had decided to end her relationship with Carlos Misael “N”/
“That situation that led to another argument and the man became aggressive, went to the kitchen where he took a knife and, after threatening to kill her, injured her in the chest.
“The woman’s brothers intervened to prevent him from injuring her again.”
A Chetumal judge has ordered Carlos Misael “N” to remain jailed during his trial.
