Man charged with fraud to remain jailed for using stolen credit card in Puerto Aventuras supermarket

Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A man caught attempting to use a credit card in a name other than his own has been formally charged with fraud. The State Attorney General’s Office says Luis L will be held in jail during his trial after a judge found sufficient evidence to charge and hold him.

Luis L was arrested on October 11, in a Puerto Aventuras supermarket when he tried to use the card to purchase electronic items. Store employees caught the name discrepancy when the card came up as stolen.

Police were called. They arrived and proceeded to arrest the man for fraud. The Attorney General reports that Luis L will remain in jail for the duration of his legal proceedings.
