The government of Isla Mujeres has yet again decided not to do anything about the location of the (so-called) temporary—it’s now been 6 years—electric generator. My sister and I had hope that after numerous complaints over the years—between the deafening noise and toxic fumes—that they would have finally decided that the location of the generator was a big mistake.
Our mistake was thinking that they would realize it. If only the person who decided to put it where it is installed it in front or near his house. He would be writing a Letters to the Editor instead of me.
My sister and I recognize that the island needs power generation—and even a backup generator—but that they determined to place it where people live, and rent, was and remains a HUGE mistake!
A mistake which my sister and I will not make again!
