Cancun, Q.R. — The Maya Train section that runs from Merida to Cancun is advancing with a double track and elevated animal crossing. In a press release, Fonatur reports that the collection of sleepers, the installation of fiber optics and provisional track for the transfer of ballast are also progressing.
The agency says a second track that will run from Cancun to Merida is advancing. Fonatur reports that along the Izamal-Cancun section 4 near the towns of Kulinché and Sisbichén, in Chemax, Yucatán, part of the second railway has already been installed.
Fonatur says that second track will run along the line of the train, leaving from Cancun and going to Merida, “in which the work of adjusting rails for the distribution of the ballast layer is advancing,” they said.
