Mexico City, Mexico — President Claudia Sheinbaum says exports in Mexico have reached a record figure. She says the country has recorded exports of $709 billion USD in April.
She also reported that Mexico’s industrial activity grew by 2.1 percent, particularly in the construction sector, according to data from Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI).
“Industrial activity increased very, very significantly. Look at the industrial activity figures.
“In April it grew by 2.1 percent. A very important part of the increase in industrial activity is the construction industry, which grew by more than 6 percent, I think 7 percent. A very good number, indeed. Good news,” she said.
“Second, exports: exports in Mexico, a record $709 billion dollars,” she noted her morning press conference.
President Claudia Sheinbaum also added to her positive news the results in tourism, registering historical records in the first four months of 2026 with 34.5 million foreign visitors and in April 2026 the entry of 3.81 million international tourists.
