Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Emergency personnel were at the scene where a pedestrian was killed by a car in Puerto Aventuras. The accident was reported to 9-1- by the driver that hit the man shortly before midnight Sunday.
The pedestrian was hit along the federal highway at the overpass near the entrance to Puerto Maya. The impact threw the man onto the top of the private car where he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
National Guard Highways arrived to cordon off the area while they waited for additional personnel. The driver of the car was taken for questioning.
There is no word on possible charges. The deceased has not been named.
