Illegal construction shut at Puerto Aventuras complex

Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Officials from Solidaridad City Council have halted illegal construction at a housing complex in the Puerto Aventuras Marina. It was the second time inspectors from the Environment Directorate had visited the property.

The first time they visited the site, they were denied access by onsite security detail. On Tuesday, the city officials arrived with reinforcements from Municipal Territorial Ordinance who warned the guards that they would be detained for obstruction if they were denied access again.

Once inside the property, Solidaridad officials were able to verify and shut down the illegal construction next to the Chac-Ha waterway. An official report was also filed with the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa).
