Historic 23.9 million investment started on Puerto Aventuras road repairs

Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The town of Puerto Aventuras is readying for a 23.9 million peso investment in road repairs. The Municipal Government of Playa del Carmen announced the start of the project Wednesday.

Municipal Mayor Estefanía Mercado announced the start of the ambitious public project in Puerto Aventuras with a historic investment of more than 23.9 million pesos.

Mercado says it is the highest investment ever spent on paving in Puerto Aventuras. The project includes the rehabilitation of eight key roads totaling 17,934.97 square meters of 5-centimeter-thick asphalt.

The project also includes the application of 4,800 linear meters of road paint to enhance road safety in high-traffic areas. The streets that are part of the historic investment includes Calzada Puerto Maya (in various sections), Avenida Calzada del Sol, Species Circuit, Calle Chaca, Calle Ciricote, Calle Chicozapote and Calle Xiat.

The project will directly benefit the town’s 22,878 residents, positively impacting their daily mobility and strengthening the social fabric through decent, functional and safe roads. “We know that a city is transformed from its streets. This is an unprecedented investment in Puerto Aventuras and it responds to a legitimate demand from our people.

“When the people’s money is managed well it is enough for the prosperity of all. It is enough to change lives, dignify spaces and advance the transformation we deserve,” said Mercado.

This urban improvement plan, she said, is part of a broader strategy for community prosperity and sustainable development in the municipality where transparency, efficient use of public resources and closeness to the people are guiding principles.
