Mexico City, Mexico — Heineken México says that it will keep its beer production on halt until authorities have lifted the restrictions to reactivate the national economy. The announcement from the Mexico brewer came on the heels of other announcements of an early May restart.
“At Heineken México, we reiterate that we have suspended our distribution operations since April 6, and that we are attentive to the moment in which the authorities allow their resumption, always safeguarding the care of the environment, health and safety of our collaborators and the population in general,” said the beer consortium that groups the Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma companies.
The beer firm denied social media rumors that as of May 2 or 5, they will begin produciton.
“We reject the false statements and ask citizens to ignore this information, which causes confusion,” they said.
Heiniken was one of the first brewers in the country to announce the temporary suspension of production and distribution due to the current epidemic.
