Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Changes in the Maya Train route does not mean a delay, says state governor, Carlos Joaquin. He says the change, if anything, could increase the construction time of the train.
“We hope that these changes will speed up and improve the conditions of the train,” he said noting the change will be in the right of way through Playa del Carmen.
Joaquín explained that the route was already modified in a northern part of Section 5, and now, the same is being done in the southern part. “State bodies such as Cadastre and the Public Registry of Property and Commerce are working closely with Fonatur, Segob and Sedatu in the revision of the right of way,” he said.
To date, he has not had any meetings with the new head of Fonatur, Javier May Rodríguez, who has said he will move to the state of Quintana Roo for his newly appointed position.
